Great Rhône Valley wine, Rasteau Côtes du Rhône Villages, appellation d’origine contrôlée, made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
The nose is almost overpowered by aromas of over-ripe, jammy black fruits, polished off with hints of liquorice, dark chocolate and cinnamon. With almost 16% alcohol, this rasteau is perfectly balanced, with a chocolaty aftertaste.

In the heart of the marvellous côtes du Rhone villages landscape, off the western Alps, is the small village of Saint Roman de Malegarde. It is here where the Fond-Croze winery produces generous and well-balanced wines. This winery is the fruit of hard labour of three generations, and the story begins just after the Great War when Charles Long bought a few plots of vineyards and produced 6000 bottles of wine. His son Raymond was to follow in his fathers’ footsteps, and slowly began to expand the winery. At the turn of the century, his sons, Daniel and Bruno, decided to take on the challenge of converting a massive 80 hectares of vines to organic farming, a challenge that was overcome in 2009. Today, on the stony red terroirs, 8 different grape varieties make up 11 different organic wines, with a total production that is not far off 100,000 bottles per year.
