This family owned 10, 3 hectare winery, biodynamically farmed, easily holds its place amongst the great chateaux of sauternes. Alain Dejean creates his nectars with an approach virtually more philosophical rather than biodynamique. He strictly follows the regulations set out by DYNAMIS but combines them with anthroposophical principles. This philosophy was founded by the father of biodynamic thinking, Rudolf Steiner. It consists of understanding and accessing a spiritual world, and is linked to wine by the assessment of the spiritual link of the vine and the earth. These practises and theories are followed in the vineyard and the winery. Alain seeks the maximum potential of his terroir in his wine! The terroir needs to be living and independent of chemical treatments. The grape bunches are meticulously selected according to their ripeness, and the wine is aged with patience.
